Duplex stainless steel requires careful control of the welding parameters to achieve the required mechanical and corrosion-resistant properties of the finished weld. For the fabrication of Duplex 1.4462 drinking water piping, consistent weld quality had to be maintained throughout production.
CQM Welding provided technical and on-site support throughout the fabrication process: welding process optimisation, monitoring and follow-up of Visual Testing (VT), coordination and follow-up of Ultrasonic Testing (UT), follow-up of Penetrant Testing (PT), on-site project support and technical coordination between fabrication and inspection.
By closely monitoring the welding and inspection process, potential quality issues could be identified and addressed at an early stage.
The project was supported from welding process optimisation through inspection and on-site project coordination, helping to ensure consistent quality throughout the fabrication of the Duplex 1.4462 drinking water piping.
