During a planned shutdown of a power plant, a new 16Mo3 valve had to be installed and welded into an existing high-temperature piping system. The work required precise preparation, correct positioning and controlled welding.
At the same time, the intervention had to fit into the customer’s overall shutdown schedule, with multiple maintenance activities taking place in parallel.
CQM Welding was engaged for the specialist welding needed to integrate the new valve into the existing installation, and took responsibility for the welding intervention on site.
Controlled welding. The valve was carefully positioned and aligned before welding. The connection was prepared according to the applicable welding requirements and welded by qualified personnel using qualified welding procedures, with particular attention to the welding parameters and thermal control required for 16Mo3.
Within the shutdown window. We worked closely with the project and maintenance teams, so the valve installation could be completed efficiently without delaying other critical shutdown activities.
The 16Mo3 valve was successfully welded into the power plant’s existing piping system as part of the planned shutdown. The intervention was integrated into the shutdown schedule and completed with a focus on quality, reliability and efficient execution.
